    By the end of the Presidential campaign season I began to see in the sharpest contrast the differences in attitude, behavior, and emotional states of those who would pit citizens against one another in the framework of fear versus those who would frame their ideas in terms of working together in a sense of shared consequence and destiny. It made it really clear to me which approach was right for me.

    Seeing the divisiveness was discouraging, but on the other hand I am seeing signs that growing numbers of people are open-minded, accept people for what or who they are, and take one another at face value. I’m seeing more examples, like this post, that acknowledge that we’re better together and that we all have things of value to offer.

    There’s a long way to go towards enlightenment, but I feel that we’re on the road and headed in the right direction.
